The Britannia Hotel Stockport has its own on-site Spindles Health & Leisure Club, boasting a gymnasium, heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, solarium, and changing rooms. There are also large and varied conference and banqueting facilities making this a popular wedding venue.
The M60 ring road is only a few minutes’ drive away and makes for quick and easy travel to Manchester, the Trafford Centre and the Lowry Centre. The Peak District, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its National Park, picturesque villages and wealth of caves, is only 30 minutes away. Manchester International Airport is a 20-minute drive.Access to Spindles Health & Leisure Club is available at an additional cost. When visiting Spindles, it is the hotel's policy that all children aged between 2 and 16 years should be accompanied by an adult at all times. Spindles is open Monday to Friday from 06:30 until 22:30, and at weekends from 09:00 to 17:00.
There is ramped access to the hotel’s front entrance and level access to its lifts and conference rooms. There are 2 designated accessible bedrooms (with bathrooms) on the ground floor. There is a ramp to the bar area, whilst the lower end of the restaurant is accessible. Staff briefed to describe menu, special diets catered for. There are 3 steps to the health club reception, with access to the poolside but neither the changing area nor jacuzzi. |

Rooms allocated on arrival, rooms can be requested at the time of booking, (this is a request only and cannot be guaranteed). These family rooms consist of either a double or twin bed together with a double or twin sofa bed.
Family rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (aged 16 years or under). Please state during the booking process if children will be accompanying you during your stay. Book a 2 night stay and save 10% on the total price of your stay (discount is included in the rate shown).

Directions
By Car:
From the M60 East:
- Leave at junction 27, signposted for Stockport East.
- Take the 4th main exit, signposted Buxton.
- Go through the 1st set of traffic lights and stay in the outside lane to the lights at the top.
- Go straight through the lights for approximately 800 metres (half a mile), through the crossing lights.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn left and follow Hempshaw Lane for approximately 1.6 km (one mile) to the next traffic lights.
- Turn right into Dialstone Lane and about 140 metres (150 yards) down the road on the left is the hotel.
From the A6, Stockport and Manchester:
- From Manchester, follow the A6 to Stockport.
- Go through Stockport town centre, follow the A6 and proceed along the main road past the Town Hall and college until you reach the traffic lights by the Bamford Arms/Travel Inn.
- Turn left into Nangreave Road and follow it until you reach the traffic lights.
- Turn left into Dialstone Lane. The hotel is approximately 45 metres (50 yards) down the road on your right.
From the A6, Buxton:
- Proceed along the A6 towards Stockport.
- Go through Hazel Grove and when you reach the traffic lights by the George & Dragon public house, carry on to the next set of lights.
- Bear right into Dialstone Lane.
- Follow the road for 2.4 km (1.5 miles), then through another set of lights and you will see the hotel on your right.
By Rail:
The nearest station is Stockport town centre, a 25-minute walk or short taxi ride. From the station, turn left and proceed to the A6 Wellington Road. Turn right and proceed up the A6 for 1.6 km (one mile) to the Bamford Arms Travel Inn. Turn left and proceed to the 1st set of traffic lights. Turn left again into Dialstone Lane and the hotel is situated 45 metres (50 yards) down on the right.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.

"We live in New York and spend the summers in the UK, so spend a night in Manchester on the way home each year. We tried your hotel, attracted by the special summer rate offer, to see if we liked it. Your website said it was fifteen minuts from the airport, but in fact it was further. (We were impressed with the excellent cab driver who took us to the airport). Although we understood that a special rate was not going to give us your best room, we had hoped for a room without the above problems, somewhere clean and comfortable in which to spend a night before a long flight. The staff, however, were particularly pleasant and the service was good. Breakfast was quite good. I would recommend this hotel because of the price but with the above caveats to anyone planning a visit."
