Manchester Airport works hard to make sure passengers with special needs are well catered for and can use the airport facilities with confidence.
To ensure that disabled travellers needs are meet a wide number of staff have received training in sign language.
Enhanced announcements possible for anyone with a ‘T’ position hearing aid. You will need to stand close to the induction loops which you will find by looking for signs with the ear symbol.
The airport will provide vehicles to help passengers with limited mobility to travel around the airport.
All levels of the airport are accessible either by ramp or lift, all lifts are fitted with tactile buttons and voice synthesisers.
Disabled toilets are available through out the airport.
Individual airlines provide airport services to disabled passengers.
Disabled parking bays are available in short/long stay car parks. The disabled bays are located close to lifts and entrances however if necessary a wheelchair service can be provided by the airline you are travelling with this will need to be requested when booking your flight.
It is worth noting that different airlines provide different levels of service to passengers with special needs as such it is advisable to compare the service of as many airlines as possible. Once you have chosen an airline and booked your flight at the earliest opportunity (preferably when booking your flight) inform the airline of any additional help you may need.
